How Long Until I Reach My Goals?

Building a strong therapeutic  relationship involves your therapist getting to know you, your goals, values, and roadblocks. You will also build confidence and trust as you get to know your therapist. A strong therapeutic relationship takes time, and everyone is different.

There may be several milestones throughout your healing journey where you can start to witness progress and see your goals beginning to take life.

Psychotherapy can have benefits and risks. Since therapy often involves discussing unpleasant aspects of your life, you may experience uncomfortable feelings like sadness, guilt, anger, frustration, loneliness, and helplessness.

Psychotherapy has also been shown to have many benefits. Therapy often leads to better relationships, solutions to specific problems, and significant reductions in feelings of distress. But there are no guarantees of what you will experience.
